As you may have noticed, we haven’t been advertising our Bring a Friend workouts for awhile. After a lot of discussion, we’ve decided to take a different direction with how we bring potential athletes into the gym. Going forward, we’ll be offering something called “No Sweat Intro’s” for all prospective Five Alarm athletes. While we loved having new members come in and try out our group classes, we noticed a couple of trends. One was that the coaches were overwhelmed. When a new person comes in and has little to no experience, the coach has to spend a good portion of the class time instructing that person specifically, almost making it a semi-personal training session. When that happens, the rest of the members in that class don’t get the attention and coaching that THEY deserve. We also noticed that not many of the people coming in for the free workout were coming back afterwards. There could be a plethora of reasons for this but one of the most common themes we heard was that folks were overwhelmed. Even though we have an amazing community, it is still intimidating for someone brand new to come into a class of 10-15 people and do a bunch of stuff they’ve never done before. We needed a way to still reach these people but without the intimidation factor and in a way that might be more accommodating to their schedule. Enter the No Sweat Intro.
So what exactly IS a No Sweat Intro? A NSI is a 15-20 minute FREE consultation where the prospect will have a chance to discuss their personal history and goals with a member of our team. They’ll also have an opportunity to ask any questions they might have about CrossFit or other services we offer at the gym. The goal in doing this is to provide people the chance to check us out in a non-intimidating environment. This also allows us to really listen to what that person is looking for and help guide them in the right direction; whether that be group classes, personal training, nutrition counseling, or a combination of any services. Prospects can easily book a NSI by going to our website and clicking on the slider or the gray box in the middle of the homepage. There are numerous options for booking times with various coaches (including some that aren’t listed in case we need to rebook) which allows for more flexibility than the Bring A Friend workouts did.
We may occasionally run free workouts so that you ARE able to bring in friends; however, those will be advertised on a case by case basis. In the meantime, if you have anyone interested in joining, let them know about the No Sweat Intro! And as always, if you have questions yourselves, please don’t hesitate to ask.
